New Building Update

Psalms 52:1 “…the goodness of God endureth continually.” God is good. Often we only give credit to God for being good when things seem to go our way. The truth is God is good all the time. Whether we get what we desire or we don’t. God thought it good for us to have the rezone of the Ute property to go through without a problem. The first hurdle has been gotten over with little effort. Praise the Lord! That means we are one step nearer to closing on the property.

One thing for sure that has come and gone since my last update of the Ute property is…time. In some ways that is what has needed to come and go. As of today we are still on track for the purchase to go smoothly.

The nitty-gritty details are being worked out right now on the re-zone. Most everything that can be done has been done and right now we are awaiting an overnight package from the owner to complete the package the city requires of us. It has been a process but a needed step in the right direction. We feel from every indication the city has given to us, and the counsel we have received for the re-zone that it should proceed through with limited to no problems.

Negotiations are still going on. Fine points of the contract are being worked out. We are down to a few details that need to be worked out. As far as our end is concerned we are pleased with the contract negotiations. The seller is still making some adjustments on his end. All in all, we are looking for a favorable contract that both meets the seller’s needs and the church’s.

Saturday, July 11, the Building Task Force met concerning the real estate contract for the Ute building. It was a profitable meeting, and we finalized the terms agreed upon by the church. There will be a final revision Wednesday night, and it will be sent to the seller on Thursday to review. After all of Mr. Shelley’s questions have been addressed, a time will be set to sign the contract.
