Continued Growth
Dear Friend,
I have been asked by different members of Landmark Baptist Church, “Pastor, do you feel this is the building that God would have us to have?” Yes, I do! I do feel that this building will satisfy our needs for some time to come. Each time the church has moved, God had used that move to reach more people with the Gospel.
God blessed Landmark Baptist Church over the years and has continued to meet each need that has presented itself to us. I am reminded of when LBC started out by securing a place to meet on a regular basis at White Hall. We started in a room of about 700 square feet in size. Not much, but, that was what we needed at the time. From there we went upstairs to a “dance floor” of about 1,000 square feet. My, the memories from those services on the bouncing dance floor. Then it was down to Riverside and a place of our own. I remember the excitement as we all pitched in financially to be able to rent the buildings. Then the purchase of five acres of land for $123,000.00; how were we going to come up with the money? We all contributed financially and made it happen. Then there was the merger with Grand Valley Baptist Church where we went from about 3,500 square feet to almost 10,000. I thought that would be it for us. But we continued to grow. Growth produces needs. Now an opportunity presents itself for much needed Sunday school space and a future church auditorium. The Ute Business Center located at 1600 Ute Avenue can meet that need. This opportunity offers us a 30,000 square foot building that will bring us further along on our journey of faith in God’s provision.
The question we need to be asking ourselves is do we have the faith to support the purchase of the Ute Business Center building with our finances?
I am prayerfully asking that all would get on board and support this project financially. This is for our future, our families and our children and we need to collectively get behind it. I would hope you will fill out your pledge form and purchase a room. We need to purchase 71 rooms at $704.25 to raise the finances that we will need going into this project. Philippians 1:27“…that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel...”
