Building Update 8/11/09
Today Landmark Baptist School started. I am excited for all the kids and especially for the parents who have a vision for Christian education. We are in such need of additional space. Our school enrollment is right at 43 with a staff of six. Our rooms are pressed beyond measure. The fellowship hall/lunch room is stuffed, and there is no more room in this building for our school.
PRAISE THE LORD! This is new territory for Landmark Baptist Church. In the past we have prayed many prayers asking the Lord to open a door for us. We have sought a multitude of options for LBC and its need for additional space for growth. Finally, as we knocked the door at the 1600 Ute building, God opened a door for us. We have a signed contract, and we are now in the process of pushing forward with the next steps.
I can’t thank Ed Mueck enough for all the work that he has done on behalf of LBC. He was almost in constant daily contact with the owner as he represented LBC and our wishes before a contract would be signed. We have a favorable contract that will bring both security and flexibility to our church’s future. Thank you Ed Mueck.
One of the things we asked from the owner was a reduced down payment. He agreed to this and cut it in half. It does not remove from us the responsibility to raise the needed $50,000. If you have not yet purchased your room, please do so. Our plan is to build a beautiful entrance including a glass display commemorating all those that have supported this project and how much they gave. I know that not everyone can give right now. But maybe over the next two years you could give enough to buy a room. Fill out a pledge form and get it in to the church office.
