History

Landmark Baptist Church was established in May of 2001, when a group of 20 people met in a small room for the first service. The church didn’t own a chair, hymnal or offering plate. Over the years we have seen many souls saved, baptized and added to the church. God has not only brought us laborers for His harvest, but He has also supplied us with tools to get the work done here in Grand Junction. God has enabled the church to experience many building projects and even purchase a new church property (30,000-square-foot building) on Ute Avenue.

Psalm 34:8 “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

What To Expect

When you arrive at Landmark Baptist Church for the first time you should feel at home. Our goal is to make you feel like part of our church family. From our greeters that you meet when you walk in our doors, to shaking the pastor’s hand as you leave, we want you to feel welcome. We also have ushers who will point you in the direction of a seat that is comfortable for you or answer any additional questions that you may have. Most adults who attend our services find our Godly music and Bible preaching to be exciting and uplifting. Our morning service start at 11:00 A.M. each Sunday, and it runs a little over an hour in length. Also, beginning at 10:00 A.M., there are adult Bible classes which take place throughout the Educational Building. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, enjoy perhaps some coffee and doughnuts, and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life-stage. The best way to get to know people at Landmark Baptist Church is to visit one of these adult Bible classes. For more information about our adult classes, click here. You can also find further information at our Guest Services located in the lobby where you can find “All things Landmark.”

Children

Where do I take my children?

Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child. At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children two years old and under. For the infants, mothers will receive a pager so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. For children two years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

Our campus has many classrooms, which to a guest can seem overwhelming at first. It’s not as complicated as it looks, and we would like to help you find the appropriate nurseries, classes, and services for every person in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located around campus and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.

You can see what room your child’s class is in by visiting our children’s page.

Teens

What about my teens?

We have an exciting teen program for all 7th-12th graders! Our Youth Pastor and his wife are the teen Sunday school teachers. Spencer Jones teaches the boys, and his wife Tashina Jones teaches the girls. Teen Assembly starts at 10AM every Sunday morning.

Most teens attend the Bible class at 10:00 A.M., and attend the main service at 11:00 A.M. with their parents. For more information about our youth group, click here.

There is not a dress code at Landmark Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress. However, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Landmark Baptist!

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don’t invite you to Landmark Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you.
